HOW DO I RENT A STORAGE UNIT?

can I rent a unit online?

At this time you cannot rent a unit directly from our website, but we can email you a rental agreement which you can complete online.

DO YOU offer climate controLled units?

No, we do not offer climate controlled units.

is there a deposit?

No, we do not charge a deposit when you rent a storage unit with us.

do you have security cameras?

Yes! All three locations are equipped with security cameras.

will i have 24 hour access to my storage unit?

Yes - our renters have 24 hour access to their storage units so long as their rent is paid in full.

when is my rent due?

Rent is always due on the first day of each month - even if you do not recieve an invoice.

will i need to bring my own lock?

Yes, you will need to bring your own lock. While almost all standard locks will work, we recommend a disc lock.

how do i pay my rent?

We offer several rent payment options for your convenience, the easiest of which is to set your account up for AUTOPAY. We also accept cash, checks, money orders. Follow this how-to link for tips on how to pay online.

DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS?

We accept all major credit cards. And no, we do not charge a fee for using credit/debit cards.

DO YOU HAVE AUTOMATIC PAYMENT OPTIONS?

Yes! You can sign up for autopay with our manager at move-in or at any time during your stay. You may also sign up from our website. Rent will automatically be deducted from a debit card or credit card on the first of each month.

what information is required when renting a storage unit?

You will need a driver’s license or a valid state or government issued ID, an alternate contact, your own lock, and payment.

how long of a lease am i required to sign?

Our storage units are rented on a month-to-month basis. Your rental with us can be long or short depending on your needs.

how long of a notice do i have to give before moving out?

Advance notice is greatly appreciated, but not required.

are my stored items insured by city limits storage center?

No - our insurance does not extend to the contents of your storage unit. We can provide information and sign you up for Storsmart Tenant Insurance which is designed specifically for self-storage coverage if you do not have an insurance policy that covers your items. how big are the doors?

Most of the doors of our ten-foot-wide units are 9’ wide by 7’ tall or 9’ wide by 8’ tall. Most of the doors on our twelve-foot-wide units are 10’ wide by 8’ tall. Our five-foot-wide units have doors that are 4’ wide by 7’ tall.

can I use a trailer for free?

Our paid renters get to use the trailers for free within 50 miles of Grand Rapids. The trailers must be reserved in advance, a valid driver’s license must be presented, proof of insurance must be provided, and the person listed as “Occupant” on the rental agreement is the only person authorized to pull the trailer.

what is the move-out procedure?

When you are finished with your storage unit and have removed all of your items: 1) sweep the floor, 2) if we provided you with a cylinder lock and key, leave them inside on the floor of the unit, 3) shut the door, 4) give us a call or text right away to let us know you are finished with the unit and provide us with a new mailing address if you have one.
